David Wade
A professional business leader with over 30 years’ extensive experience, working in diverse organisational environments and across all business disciplines.
I started my career in the automotive industry working for Rolls-Royce & Bentley Motors before joining Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd (NMUK) in a supplier quality assurance role before becoming one of the pioneering members of the newly formed Supplier Development Team, the first team of its type outside of Japan.
I trained extensively in kaizen and lean manufacturing disciplines in Japan and was responsible for the introduction of Genba Kanri (Workshop Management) philosophy into Nissan’s local supplier group.
I left the automotive sector to help form the Kaizen Institute in the UK where I consulted for 4 years before starting my own consultancy. Since then I have continued to deliver lean practice across a wide range of industry sectors in some of the worlds most renowned companies.
Through my work with organisations such as Mercedes Benz, General Motors, Reckitt & Colman & Geest I have gained a deep knowledge of how best to tailor and deliver business improvement programmes in Engineering, FMCG and Food industries. I have led programmes on single as well as multi-site operations and is well versed in achieving bottom line results using tools such as Lean, Kaizen, and CI best practice methodologies.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Enterprise Management from the University of Durham and a Diploma in Mechanical and Production Engineering. I am a diverse and practical leader and work with senior leadership teams and staff coaching and training them to be able to perform at their very best.
I moved to New Zealand in 2006 for lifestyle reasons, and have gained significant experience here within the dairy industry where I have been able to utilise my experience.
